He will spend the pre-season with a training session in December before he flies to Australia to play the first Grand Slam of the season, the Australian Open.
“I have a pretty busy schedule. I’m about to start a new season in Australia, which I’ve always really enjoyed,” said Murray.
“I will do one tournament, then the Australian Open. After that, I’m going to have a few hard-court tournaments, then hopefully a clay-court tournament before returning to England for the grass-court season.”
On playing at Wimbledon, Murray added, “Yeah, that’s the plan. For now, I’m still focused on playing tennis and winning matches. I’m happy with my progress this season, but there are definitely things to improve.”
“I will have a training session in December, so we will hope to know some of those aspects and improve. So hopefully I can get some wins next season.”
With the struggle against injury and getting back into top form in recent seasons, coupled with the retirements of tennis stars such as Roger Federer and Serena Williams, there are questions about whether or not the Briton will continue to play.
However, he has confirmed that he will return to action in the 2023 season after he received support from his wife, Kim.
“My wife is the best, for continuing to allow me to follow my dream and play tennis,” said Andy Murray.
For now, he wants to spend time with his wife and four children before making his return to tennis.
“For me it’s the end of the season so a little time to reflect and that means I’ll be at home with my family. That’s probably the best thing for me. I miss them all so much when I’m away from them.”
