Anthony Joshua Shares His Strategy How to Beat Oleksandr Usyk

Anthony Joshua admitted he will find it difficult to beat Oleksandr Usyk with whom he will fight on September 25 in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“I’m 100% sure, he will cause me a lot of difficulties. In this match, the set of moves is the most important factor.” Joshua said.

“Move so as not to become the opponent’s sandbag. Then focus when you want to unleash, you have to lock down the target you want to attack, then move immediately.

“You have to make sure your brain is always active. It can be mentally exhausting for me, so I’m honing my mind to focus on 12 games!

“I’m also practicing 4 punch combos, not single punches. It’s a battle of the brain. To know what is in front of you, to know how to deal with it. You can be aggressive, corner him, throw him all the punches you have, everything.” Joshua added.

Joshua was meant to fight Tyson Fury this summer but the fight was called off after the Gypsy King was forced to take on Deontay Wilder in the third and final fight of their trilogy.

“I am looking for a way to gradually trim the strength of the opponent. I’m going to have to fight the type of fighter who can stay stiff on the ground after 12 rounds.” Joshua said.

“So, it’s silly to own that bulky muscle, the type of body that will scream for oxygen in every blood vessel as the game gets closer to the end.” he added.

The WBA, WBO, and IBF welterweight champion admitted Usyk is an amazing cruiser one of the best along with Evander Holyfield. But the Briton believes with his hard training at the Gym he will have the best shape to fight Usyk.

“Right now, I’m training like I’m going to have to fight 15 rounds in the next fight. I will be in the best shape to fight. That is the key to win.” Joshua said.

“What happens when I train myself that way? My body will adapt and return to its natural form. That is the form that is most needed!” he added.
