Barcelona President Believes the Club Can Still Sign Top Players

There is no doubt that Barcelona currently has a number of the top players. Just say it like Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Antoine Griezmann.

And Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu believes the club can still sign a number of other top players in next summer.

“There is not going to be as much money in the transfer market this summer because of the pandemic. But I predict that we are going to see a lot more player exchange deals.” Bartomeu said.

“I can’t talk about names, but Barca will be making moves to do the deals we feel necessary. We make more money than any other football club in the world, so of course we have the capacity to make big signings.” Bartomeu added.

Barcelona is believed to be the richest football club in Europe. They have a number of incomes in various lines throughout the 2019/20 season.

“The club is not in danger. We’re different from other clubs that rely on ticketing or television rights. We have other sources of income like the football schools, the museum. So the lockdown hits us more than others, but we will also be quicker to get back on track.” Bartomeu said.

“The predicted revenue for this season was €1 billion and we were flying in February, ahead of predictions. We will continue to be the biggest earning football club. All clubs have a drop in income right now and we are working quickly to act on that.” he added.

Barcelona are two points clear at top of LaLiga table but want season to finish the league. And the Blaugrana would be crowned champions if the league season ended right now.

LaLiga indefinitely banned due to coronavirus pandemic. An indefinite suspension of the 2019/20 campaign was announced on Monday amid the crisis.

Spain has been hit hard by the outbreak of COVID-19, suffering over 3,000 deaths and more than 47,000 cases of the virus reported.
