CDA Denies Newbee’s Allegations that Said to intimidate their Players

A new round of Newbee match-fixing cases has begun, in which Newbee has rejected accusations from the Chinese Dota 2 Professional Association (CDA), which said that Newbee had made a match fixing.

Newbee pointed out important points in their legal notices, one of which was that CDA had intimidated Newbee players when asked for information about match-fixing. Following are the key points of Newbee’s legal notice:

1. Newbee claims that the CDA announced a lifetime ban before all interviews were completed. They claim that this is unconventional and attempts to slander their organization.

2. The team players claimed that they were intimidated during the interview.

3. The club alleged that handling the CDA for this situation had damaged their reputation. As a result, they also stated that they believed that it was possible that some members of the organization wanted to slander their club.

CDA responded to this by denying Newbee’s allegations of coercion and stated that they had submitted evidence of match fixing to Valve and Perfect World.

They also stated that they would continue to stick to the decisions they made on May 15 (where they blacklisted Newbee).

“The CDA Association cross-examined and on May 15, we borrowed Mars Media’s meeting room to carry out separate and detailed investigations to five players, and told the players beforehand that this investigation was based on a voluntary basis and that we recorded the entire process. There was no coercion, intimidation, etc. throughout the investigation.

The CDA Association submitted all videos to Perfect World on May 18 and to Valve on May 19. During investigations, the CDA Association always hopes that players can realize their mistakes and improve their ways.

After the investigation, the relevant players and interest groups choose to collude with each other, and they try to reverse the facts they state themselves in the conversation. So, we are very disappointed.

The CDA Association will firmly stick to the announcement made on 15 May. Once again, we emphasize that based on the ecology and environment of the Chinese professional DOTA2 tournament and our zero tolerance for improper profit seeking activities such as match-fixing, the CDA Association will never support such behavior. ” obviously CDA.

Neither Perfect World nor Valve made any statements about this issue. Newbee did not respond to the CDA statement until today.
