The performance of Team Spirit’s new analyst, Vren, was not good in the 2024 MSC tournament. The Russian team failed to qualify for the knock-out phase after suffering two defeats and one win.
Vren joined Spirit shortly after MPL Indonesia Season 13 ended. He strengthened RRQ but was rarely seen appearing in matches until the public nicknamed him “El Ninja”. The insults roared again after Team Spirit’s final results did not meet expectations at MSC 2024.
In last night’s post-match interview, he responded about his failures and the reasons why the team he played for did not play as well as the previous M5.
“The competitive season isn’t over yet, we’ve just started. I don’t need to prove anything to anyone. I just need to continue my work, there will always be people telling me things, I can’t control that. It’s meaningless,” he said.
Regarding the reason why Team Spirit did not perform, time was considered to be one of the influencing factors. He has been training Team Spirit for MSC 2024 for about a month and he hasn’t been able to develop much from the team’s game.
“It takes time to develop this team, of course this little time limits me, especially my experience. And this region (CIS) has quite a few tournaments compared to other international regions. So of course we need more time to prepare and if given more time I’m sure they will more developed,”
In Coach Vren’s last social media upload, he wrote “Thank you Team Spirit” which could be a sign that he has left the team. It is not certain whether the contract between the two parties is only for MSC 2024 or whether he was kicked out because the results were unsatisfactory. So, where will Vren land next?
