The Jack Brabham Trophy Race was held at Brands Hatch in 1971, where only the team bosses were allowed to compete. And there would be absolutely no love lost in the competitive battle around the British circuit.
Today, the organisation of such a test, among Fred Vasseur, Toto Wolff, Maurizio Arrivabene, Christian Horner and the others would not it be attractive, at the time when Liberty Media seeks to animate the weekends Grand Prix.
Speaking to reporters, Renault driver Carlos Sainz told he likes to see F1 team bosses to compete in driving the same cars.
“I would like this kind of race to be held. And I would also like drivers to compete in driving the same cars once a year.” Sainz told reporters.
“Imagine, in a Formula 3 in Macau! We would have exactly the same engine. We would just check the level of each driver. It would be fun for the team bosses as well. Maybe we could put together the two races and have a race in Macau. That’s my idea!” Sainz added.
Asked who would the Renault driver be able to win? The Spaniard said Christian Horner and Mercedes boss Toto Wolff are huge favourite to be winner.
“Good question, who was a pilot in the past? Christian Horner, I believe. Toto [Wolff] too, of course, Toto and Christian would have the best chances, but would it be fun to see other people? Engineers, right? Engineers who would say what to do to team bosses!” Sainz said.

Mercedes driver, Valtteri Bottas, meanwhile, he has also joked about this potential test among the F1 team bosses this season.
“It would be nice to watch, and manage their races, to actually be their bosses! Remind them at the stands, tell them how to manage the car, ask them how they feel in the car.” Bottas said.
“Who would win? Good question. Some know how to drive, at least Toto I think so. He’s good. So I think he would not finish long.
“I have already raced against Toto Wolff in rally. It was 2008. It was my first real test day on earth and Toto had done some rallies in the past.” Bottas added.
The 10 lap Jack Trophy Race was essentially a sprint – there is no need for pitstops or much in the way strategy, the key to winning was simply to be slightly faster than everyone else.
