Former Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso has posted and shared how he is living the quarantine and recalled moments form his past due to coronavirus outbreak.

According to reports, the Spanish minister for transport, Jose Luis Abalos, warned on Monday that the lockdown will last more than 15 days since this period would not alone be enough for the country to win the battle against the coronavirus.

“It is time to say home and then everything will have happened, but I think we will be many weeks like this, it will not be a matter of then days. Now we are all the same, we have to be home and do everything possible to overcome this.” Alonso posted on his Instagram.

“I have a small gym at home, with treadmill and elliptical and I also have weights. Everyday I look for an hour or an hour and a half and train. I put it on myself as an obligation. I put the treadmill in the garage and I open the door to see a bit of the sun and feel the outdoors.” Alonso added.

The Spaniard, who has won in the Monaco GP and in the 24 hours of Le Mans will play the Indianapolis race for the third time in search of the “Triple Crown”.

Alonso has confirmed he will not return to F1 with McLaren, he is confident of being able to be in the IndyCar 500, which so far have not changed the schedule (May 24) despite coronavirus outbreak.

“Now I was preparing the Indy 500. I was with the simulator ad I was going to go to the Barber race to see how the team worked, but now everything is banned.” Alnso said.

Alonso decided to retire from F1 at the end of the 2018 season. He ended Michael Schumacher’s five-year dominance of the drivers’ championship when he won the first of his titles in 2005. At the time, he became the youngster ever driver to win the title.
