Manny Pacquiao on August 21, 2021, will meet Errol Spence Jr for WBC and IBF titles in a 12-round welterweight bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, USA.
It will be great to see the 42-year-old Filipino back to ring with Spence after nearly two years since he last fought against Keith Thurman.
Floyd Mayweather pointed out that former his opponent Pacquiao is still dangerous with his fists above the ring. Both men faced each other in the ring back in 2015.
“He [Pacquiao] is still very dangerous, it won’t be an easy fight for Spence at all.” Mayweather said.
“I like both guys in that fight, and may the best man win, really. Manny has so much experience; he can get through anything.” Mayweather added.
Mayweather returning to the ring this upcoming weekend to take on YouTuber Logan Paul in an eight-round exhibition.
The ‘Money’ with his impressive 50-0 record and Paul in just his third, hope to add millionaire figures from the sale of the event on PPV, organized by Showtime Boxing.
When asked who he was behind, Mayweather said: “Of course, I’m behind Errol Spence 100%. I wanna see Spence win. Actually, I’m going to call him and give him some pointers.”
Pacquiao is a boxing living legend, but he is already in the final stages of his career; He boasts a professional record of 62 wins, 2 draws and 7 losses.
The last fight of Spence took place on December 5, 2020 against Dani Garcia. He won by unanimous decision.
Spence is considered one of the best pound for pound today due to the fact that he holds the world welterweight titles of the IBF and the WBC. The 31-year-old American remains undefeated with 27 wins, 21 of which were by KO.
