Four people tested positive for covid-19 from a third round corona virus test conducted to Premier League clubs earlier this week.
So far 1,008 people have taken the corona virus test. Of the four who tested positive on the third round of tests, it is unknown the status of the four people referred to as players, coaches, managers, or staff.
From the first and second round tests it was found that there were positive cases of the corona virus and had undergone isolation, but it was not explained whether the positive cases in the previous tests which then appeared again in the third round test.
After completing the third round of examinations, the next round of examinations will take place Thursday and Friday.
“The Premier League confirmed on Monday 25 May and Tuesday 26 May a covid-19 test of 1,008 players and club staff. Of these, four were stated positively from three clubs. Positive players or club staff will undergo independent isolation for seven days, “write an official statement.
“Previously, between May 19-22, 996 players and club staff underwent covid-19 tests and two of them from two clubs tested positive. Around 748 players and club staff tested covid-19 on May 17-18, with six people of the three clubs stated positive, “continued the statement quoted from the official Premier League website.
While the Premier League has reached an agreement and allowed the players to train in large numbers and touch each other. This is the development of a training permit that came out a week earlier that allowed clubs to hold training in small groups.
The Premier League requires strict protocols to ensure the club’s training ground is safe for players and staff and conducts covid-19 tests twice a week in order to return to the match in mid-June.
Representatives from each club will meet again on Thursday to discuss further details regarding the plans for completion of the season, including a backup plan if the situation and conditions are judged to be unsafe to hold a match.
