Juventus seems to be hunting many midfielders in the transfer market this summer. The club owned by Agnelli family have officially received Aaron Ramsey. He joined for free after his contract at Arsenal was expired.
Now Juventus will reportedly get another free midfielder in, that is, Adrien Rabiot. Italian media reported that Juventus and Rabiot had reached an agreement.
He will join when his contract at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) runs out this summer. After being reportedly in doubt earlier, Juventus finally agreed to bring him to Turin.
One reason is because the competition to get the player diminishes as other clubs begin to retreat. Hence, Juventus do not have to offer a very large contract to be able to bring Rabiot. The Old Lady is rumored to offer the French footballer a salary of seven million euros per year including bonuses with a five-year contract.
With the quality and experience brought by the 24-year-old player, will this end Juventus’ hunt for Paul Pogba?
According to the Calciomercato report, despite getting Ramsey and Rabiot, Juventus still wanted Pogba. They still want to bring Pogba as their biggest transfer this summer.
It is reported that Manchester United requested a ransom of 140 million euros for a club interested in Pogba. Juventus considered Man United’s request too expensive and put forward a cash option and an additional player to bring Pogba.
Pogba himself has admitted publicly that he has the chance to leave Man United. He will also be made a major player in the midfield of Maurizio Sarri’s side.
For now, Juventus already have five midfielders (not including Ramsey). They were Miralem Pjanic, Sami Khedira, Blaise Matuidi, Emre Can, and Rodrigo Bentancur. The arrival of Rabiot and Pogba will make the midfielders eight people.
Coach Maurizio Sarri used to only put up three players in his team’s midfield. This means there will be players who will be the third layer in the midfield position.
Yet, this issue can be overcome by selling players. Miralem Pjanic and Sami Khedira became two players who continued to be rumored to be leaving.
Even so, Sarri reportedly wants Pjanic to stay in Turin.
Regarding Rabiot’s transfer, now reportedly just a matter of time until the two parties gave their black and white signatures.
