Golovkin: It’s a show, just a business

Ahead of the super fight between MMA Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, Kazakh boxer Genaddy Golovkin says it is just a business but not a real world boxing.

“It’s not boxing, Conor is not a boxer. It’s a show, just business, people have understood it,” Golovkin said to media. “If people want to see a great fight, they will follow my fight on September 16,” Golovkin added.

Gennady Golovkin and Saul Alvarez meet on September 16, in Las Vegas. The two boxers have been waiting for this super fight for a long time. Golovkin is unbeaten in 37 with a total of 33 ending early and most painfully for his opponents.

Considered to be one of the best boxers in his history, Mayweather, agreed to step out of his retirement in last September 2015 to face the MMA champion, Conor McGregor on August 26, at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.

The 40-year-old boxer, who remained unbeaten in 49 professional fights, will earn a $ 100 million purse for this fight, which will be held according to the rules of English boxing.

Speaking to the media, Mayweather says he can’t wait to meet his opponent and ready to give the best. “McGregor is a tough fighter. People all around the world demanded this fight so I had to give them what the wanted to see.” Maywether said.

On the other side, McGregor, who normally fights by hitting with his legs and knees and using choking techniques, is given largely loser by experts and current world boxers. However, he’ll have a chance to win this fight due to his experience.

The proponent of this fight, former boxer Oscar De la Hoya, who presented the fight between Conor and Mayweather says this is as a great fight, a real fight, as opposed to the duek between Gennady and Alvarez. He also appreciated the fight, which had scheduled only three weeks before Golovkin against Alvarez.

“It’s like organising the Super Bowl and then three weeks later the World Series, it is not possible,” De la Hoya said. “We have all the year to organise big events like this, they could have programmed it in november and December, but we have a real fight.” he added.
