Guerrero’s Penalty Failed, Jesus Became Hero at King Power Stadium

Penalties given to Manchester City failed to be executed by Sergio Aguero. In front of thousands of Leicester City supporters who filled the King Power stadium, Aguero’s right foot shot could be saved by The Fox goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichel. The penalty occurred after VAR review show a hand ball by Leicester midfielder Denis Praet.

Manchester City missed a penalty that occurred in the 60th minute. Finally, 20 minutes later, Gabriel Jesus managed to score with a pass from Riyad Mahrez. The young Brazilian came in for Aguero just 3 minutes before he scored. Gabriel Jesus entered the field in the 77th minute and scored in the 80th minute.

City’s victory at home of “The Fox” Leicester on Sunday (2/23/20) is very valuable considering they must remain focused on collecting points to reduce the distance from Liverpool.

Manchester City are firmly ranked 2nd while Leicester have not managed to shorten their distance with City, finishing 3rd with 50 points. They play at home but cannot use it to win.

For Pep Guardiola, this victory is also valuable capital for his squad to travel to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in the face of the first leg of the Champions League against Real Madrid. The Champions League trophy is the only trophy that Pep Guardiola’s dream with City has yet to materialize.

Premierleague.com (2/23/20) recorded at least 18 shots from City players but only 7 shots were on target, one of which was a goal. City controlled the game up to 68 percent with 7 corner kicks. Evidence they attacked aggressively.

Pep fielded his favorite formation 4-3-3 with a midfield footing for Kevin de Bruyne, Rodrigo and Ilkay Gundogan. They are very mobile to support the trio attackers-Riyad Mahrez, Sergio Aguero and Bernardo Silva.

The City back quartet still filled by Fernandinho as one of the central defenders accompanied by Aymeric Laporte and two full backs, Benyamin Mendy and Kyle Walker. They assited goalkeeper Ederson under the crossbar.

Kevin de Bruyne did not score in the 90-minute game. In fact he was not in his best condition to play that night. But Kevin has always been a City player who plays a very important role.

Not only does De Bruyne have exceptional qualities in ball possession, he is also smart in managing City’s tempo to provide a high performance. Besides the players from Belgiaini, another player who was very impressive in his game was Riyad Mahrez. He produced many classy moments, including brilliant assists for Gabriel’s goal.
