Hazard is happy at Chelsea

Maurizio Sarri has made Chelsea back to the top three of the Premier League, while the Blues’ striker Eden Hazard said he is happy again at Stamford Bridge after a tough season last year.

Hazard told his teammates and family that he would not look for a new base next winter, despite Real Madrid’s interest in offering his services, according to reports.

The 27-year-old was repeatedly linked with Madrid in last summer and hinted – after helping Belgium to third place at the 2108 World Cup.

The reports in Spain had supposed that an agreement had been reached between transfer manager Marina Granovskaia and Chelsea to see to a possible offer of Madrid for the player.

Hazard’s contract expires in 2020 and the offer of an extension has not been taken up so far, but he is showing no signs unhappiness.

“It’s been several years now that they are interested. When it’s not Real, when it’s not PSG. I’m happy where I am,” Hazard told journalists.

“I like to have the ball. Not in my own half, but in the last 30 metres. I like this type of the game. It’s completely different than Antonio Conte or Jose Mourinho before. We have more balls so for me, it’s not bad.” Hazard added.

The Belgian forward revealed his regret at how his time with former his manager Jose Mourinho ended and said he wants to work with the Portuguese again.

“In 12 years I’ve only had one bad season, the last six months under Mourinho, and it was partly my own fault. After the title, we asked Mourinho for extra holidays. I came back totally out of shape.” Hazard said.

“The last season under Mourinho was not enjoyable. We didn’t win, we got into a sort of routine, training without having fun, it was better for all parties that we parted ways. But if I’m asked now about one manager with whom I want to work again, I would say Mourinho.

“I sent him a message to say I was sorry he had gone and that I was sorry. We’d enjoyed all that success together, but this time we hadn’t.” he added.

Hazard has begun the 2018/19 season in good form, scoring sevens goals in eight Premier League appearances and netting a stunning Carabao Cup winner against Liverpool.
