Juventus goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny, admits that he is optimistic that his team can overtake Inter Milan from the top of the 2023-2024 Italian League standings. He is even quite confident about Juventus’ chances of winning the title.
Currently the team from Turin is in second place with 43 points. Meanwhile, Inter Milan is at the top of the standings with 45 points.
Wojciech Szczesny said the Nerazzurri – Inter Milan’s nickname – have been quite consistent so far in the Italian League. However, it could be that the team slips up and Juventus will maximise it to take the top position.
“Inter Min is strong, but we can do it, come on,” said Wojciech Szczesny as quoted from the Tuttomercato page, Sunday (31/12/2023).
The goalkeeper player said that his team had to perform optimally from match to match so as not to lose points. This is if Juventus wants to be able to shift Inter Milan’s position from the top of the current standings.
“I’m not fighting for fourth or third place. If we want to play at this level, we will aim for maximum results,” he said.
Wojciech Szczesny said that at this time he did not want to talk about Juventus’ chances of winning. However, this can only be discussed when the team is at the top of the standings in the top caste competition in Italy.
“It is forbidden to talk about winning the Italian League, no, we are still minus two points (from Inter Milan),” he said.
