Italian League Results: Inter Milan Beat Atalanta 1-0

Inter Milan beat Atalanta 1-0 in Week 26 of the Italian League at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Tuesday (9/3).

Reported by BolaSport.com from Whoscored, I Nerazzurri as the host did not appear dominant because their possession only reached 44.7 percent throughout the match.

The chances for Inter Milan are 5 with 1 shot on target, while Atalanta produces 13 with 3 kicks on goal.

Inter tried to constantly play attacking from the start, but Atalanta was able to provide the right resistance so that the hosts did not have the freedom to play the ball.

In a few moments Atalanta was able to compensate and reply after cutting Inter’s attack.

The incident on the sidelines occurred when Antonio Conte complained that the former Italian national team player and coach was shown a yellow card.

Marco Sportielo’s 17th-minute save saved Atalanta an own goal. Cristian Romero’s bait, which was under pressure from Romelu Lukaku, led dangerously into La Dea’s goal. Sportielo reaches for him with his head and throws off the pitch.

In the 40th minute Atalanta scored two golden opportunities from a corner kick. The first is through Duvan Zapata. After the ball was blocked by Samir Handanovic and again produced a corner kick, it was Marcelo Brozovic’s turn to block Atalanta’s header.

Eight minutes into the second half, Inter took a 1-0 lead. Starting from a chaotic corner kick in the Inter penalty box, Milan Skriniar released the ball into the lower right corner of Atalanta’s goal. Sportiello only saw the ball slide into the net.

Lukaku had the chance to make Inter add a goal against Sportiello, but Cristian Romero appeared suddenly from behind and poked the ball from Lukaku’s control.

Atalanta then appeared more dominant. Duvan Zapata had opened fire from inside the penalty box which was still off the mark before being replaced by Luis Muriel. The substitute also threatened goalkeeper Samir Handanovic in the 73rd minute.

Until the referee blew the final whistle, Inter’s advantage did not change. An additional three points reaffirms Inter’s position at the top of the Italian League standings.

The victory over Atalanta made Inter Milan more comfortable sitting at the top of the standings thanks to a collection of 62 points from 26 matches. While Atalanta must be stuck in fifth place with a score of 49 points from 26 matches.
