Italian League Results: Juventus Wins 3-1 over Atalanta

Juventus won 3-1 at Atalanta in the Week 13 Italian League match with Gonzalo Higuain’s two goals at the Gewiss Stadium on Saturday (11/23).

The Juventus visitors face Atalanta without star player Cristiano Ronaldo who is absent due to fitness problems and will be prepared for the midweek Champions League against Atletico Madrid.

Juventus are trying to attack Atalanta from both sides of the wing. However, Ronaldo’s absence makes it difficult for the Bianconeri squad to find target man in welcoming passes from the wing.

In the 17th minute Atalanta had the chance to take the lead after getting a penalty. The penalty was awarded by referee Gianluca Rocchi after Sami Khedira was considered handball.

However, striker Musa Barrow who became the executor of the penalty failed to carry out their duties properly. Barrow’s right foot kick hit the crossbar even though goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny had moved to the left.

In the 41st minute Juventus try to get a chance goal through Pjanic’s free kick. But Pjanic’s efforts have not produced results after his shot went wide on the right side of goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.

Atalanta again threatened Juventus in the 44th minute through Mario Pasalic’s shot. However, Articleic’s shot on goal which Szczesny had left was still hitting Juve’s defense.

The host finally succeeded in winning first in the 56th minute thanks to Robin Gosens’s header that utilizes bait from Barsa Mussa.

Juventus could only equalize in the 73rd minute after Gonzalo Higuain’s shot hit Rafael Toloi. Higuain successfully utilized the turmoil in front of the Atalanta goal.

When receiving a bounce ball, the Argentine striker immediately turned around and released the left foot kick. The ball that led to the goal first hit Toloi so that it changed the direction that fooled goalkeeper Gollini.

Higuain broke into Atalanta’s goal again in the 82nd minute after getting a bait from Juan Cuadrado. The goal was able to protest from Atalanta players because Cuadrado considered offense first.

In injury time precisely in the 90th minute + 2 Paulo Dybala added to Juventus’ superiority. Dybala scored the final goal through a left-footed shot that the opponent keeper could not reach. Juventus won 3-1 over Atalanta.
