Liverpool might have finished fourth last season, but the pundits and fans place them ahead both Manchester City and Manchester United to win the English Premier League in 2018/19 season.
It’s clear to see why Liverpool are considered City’s biggest threat. They won three out of four meetings with Guardiola’s side last term including both legs of the Champions League quarter-final. Since then, Klopp has brought midfielders Naby Keita, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and goalkeeper Alisson to Anfield.
Keita and Fabinho add steel to the midfielder after Emre Can’s exit, while Shaqiri can provide effective cover in attack. Meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk, instantly improved Klopp’s back-line, signing Alisson will ensure Klopp’s side great recent history of first team goalkeeper will no longer be an issue.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said his team needs to be more like “Rocky Balboa” this season as they bid to win Premier League this term.
The Reds begin their Premier League campaign on Sunday afternoon as they welcome West Ham United to Anfield.
“We need more luck. Someone gave me the unluckiest team article! We have to be more consistent. We know that, more clinical, more aggressive in the right moments.” Klopp told to The Mirror.
“We need to improve everything. You ask me abut gap with City. We had three points from City and they had three points from us. It’s about losing them in other games.
“It’s not other big six. You see how Fulham, Wolves and Everton act, and I’m not forgetting anybody, they are all ambitious. It’s difficult all the teams.

“We have to be in a championship mode. We jump into the water and we dive until ae don’t have oxygen anymore. That’s the plan. A lot of people think because of the transfer window we will challenge more, but that’s not how is.
“City, the champions, have not lost a player and brought in Mahrez. They were impressive against Chelsea, both side were. We are still Rocky Balboa and not Ivan Drago. We need to want more and fight more. That must be our attitude.” the German added.
Asked whether Liverpool had pretty replaced Philippe Countinho, Klopp said it’s hard to find right player so far but he believes there are a lot of good players.
“I don’t want to put one of my players in the position where will now say constantly ‘he’s the Phil replacement’.” Klopp said.
“Out there on the market, there isn’t a Phil Coutinho light. But there are a lot of good players and we have brought a few of them in.” Klopp added.
