Juventus plan to rested Cristiano Ronaldo at 3 Serie A matches

Juventus are reluctant to rush to play the star, Cristiano Ronaldo, who is claimed to have been injured recently. This was due to the Bianconeri’s desire to protect his physical condition amidst many important schedules nearby.

Ronaldo played his first international match after the 2018 World Cup, after several times rejecting the Portuguese national team call. The reason at that time, he wanted to shorten the adaptation process at Juventus.

The 34-year-old played full time when Portugal faced Ukraine in the first European Cup qualifying match at the weekend. But bad luck happened to him when the team lead by Fernando Santos underwent the next party against Serbia.

Juventus Protect Ronaldo
In the match against Serbia, which ended in a 1-1 draw, Ronaldo was only able to play for 30 minutes due to an injury to his right thigh. After that, he was replaced by Benfica player Pizzi.

Ronaldo himself is convinced that the injury is not severe, even saying to the media crew that he can perform after a week or two of rest. But the Juventus president, Andrea Agnelli, seemed to want the former Real Madrid player to pull over for longer.

“When you experience an injury like that, you have to be careful. Ronaldo is fine. We will protect him from now until the end of the season because there is something more important than thinking about one match,” said Agnelli quoted from Goal.

Form of Anticipation
Agnelli himself did not deny that Ronaldo’s contribution to the next matches would mean a lot to Juventus. It’s just that he feels better anticipating early than seeing himself injured for a long time.

“We are fortunate to have 25 quality players who can be relied upon. Surely having it on the field gives us added security. But with a muscle injury, you must be careful and bet can result in losing him in the future,” he was quoted as saying by Football Italia.

“It’s better to protect it for one match than in the next two and a half months,” he said.

Juventus will carry out a busy schedule. Three Serie A matches await Massimiliano Allegri’s squad within the next week. After that, they must shift their focus to the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Ajax.
