Kylian Mbappe Insists to Leave Frech National Team after Worst Euro 2020

French Football Federation (FFF) Noel Le Graet has revealed Kylian Mbappe insisted to leave French national team after his home team’s early knocked out by Switzerland at Euro 2020 in last year.

Switzerland won 5-4 in a tense penalty shootout to take them through to the quarter finals.

Mbappe thought of not continuing to play for the national team after being criticised by fans in his home own.

“I met Mbappe after Euro 2020. He felt he was not protected by the FFF after he missed a penalty and was criticized on social media platforms ,” Le Graet President said.

“We taklid for five minutes, in my room. Mbappe was very angry. He said he didn’t want to play for France anymore. Even though I know Mbappe has no intention.” he added.

Mbappe on the other hand, continued to dedicate himself to the French team. He helped the Gaulois Rooster qualify for the 2022 World Cup and win the Nations League title.

The 24-year-old striker is being evaluated as the future of French football with just extending his Contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

At the 2022 World Cup finals taking place later this year in Qatar, Mbappe is considered the mainstay in the plan to protect the reigning champion’s throne.

“I have never taken a single euro to play for the French national team and I will always play for my national team for free. Above all, I never wanted to be problem.” Mbappe said.

“But from the moment where I felt like that I was starting to become a problem and that people felt I was a problem.

“I received the message, that my ego was what made us lose, that I wanted to take up too much space, and that without me, therefore, we might have won.

“The most important thing is the French national team and if the French national team is happier without me, I’ll go.” Mbappe added.
