Lewis Hamilton warns that he could leave F1 at the end of the season

Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton warns that he could leave F1 at the end of the season, just one year after Nico Rosberg. Probably, this rumor will not please his team at all.

The Briton has indeed hinted that retirement at the end of the season was an opportunity despite he could completely re-score the cards for the 2018 season. When asked by media, he admitted he didn’t think his table standing in F1 be affected if he were to leave this seson.

“My destiny is in my hands. I can say that I will retire at the end of the season,” said Hamilton. “So that means that my legacy would be less important that if I leave in 5 years, who can say it? Who knows?

“I don’t like to plan because I don’t know what is waiting for me at the corner, I don’t know what Im’ going to do.

Hamilton, who has twice been champion with Mercedes, added that he can understand what motivated Nico Rosberg to take his decision to leave Mercedes at the end of the last year.

“I can understand in some ways, the feeling of wanting to quit and want to do something different,” Hamilton said. “From time to time, I think about what I will do after the Formula 1. Then I see this car and I tell myself that I will stay.

“Honestly, I don’t know how long I will stay in F1 but I’m always competitive, I always hungry for success and I always at my best.” He added.

Hamilton’s current Mercedes contract expires in 2018, though he has previously said he considered signing one more contract in F1 that would see him compete very well into his late thirties.

Still in indecision, the end of the season in F1 will be greatly awaited by Hamilton’s fans to know if he replaces for at least an additional year or not. However, would Rosberg replace Hamilton on the track?

“I want to enjoy my period time because I think I’ve gained it here, but I don’t want to overstay my welcome because I know that every year that I stay there’s one young kid who may have had a chance to come thorough,” Hamilton added.
