“So now we can only send four units, including Marcus, who became the first buyer of GR Supra in Indonesia,” Anton said. In the Toyota Sport Car Media Experience event at the Sentul Circuit, Bogor, which was held on Wednesday (11/20/2019), Anton also explained his considerations in choosing Marcus Fernaldi Gideon.
According to him, besides being an important person, the world’s number one men’s doubles player was also listed as a loyal Toyota consumer. “One of them is Marcus, and three more are also Toyota loyal customers,” Anton said.
Met at the same place, Marcus explained the reason for buying the super-rare car. According to Marcus, GR Supra is one of his dream cars that can finally be owned.
“First I saw the concept on the internet, I said I must have this car,” he said. “When GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) was launched, I immediately ordered and now it is in my hands,” Marcus added.
Marcus then said that the new car was planned to only be used on holidays, while for daily use, he used the Toyota Alphard. However, Marcus claimed that it did not matter if his Supra GR was used for ordinary days. “So, I chose this car, and when I tried it at the Sentul Circuit, its performance was truly extraordinary,” he said.
Marcus Fernaldi Gideon’s wealth as a world famous badminton athlete continues to grow along with the many championships he won with Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo. This year alone, Marcus has earned around 236,000 US dollars.
With such great wealth, it is not surprising that this Jakarta-born athlete is able to have luxury cars as its four-wheeled vehicle choice.
