Kylian Mbappe believes Real Madrid is a big club destined for his career.
It is no secret that Mbappe has idolized Madrid since he was a child. Zinedine Zidane to Cristiano Ronaldo are his idols. For him, both stars are important figures.
“Zidane. For the French, he is a very important figure and we follow all his matches here [Real Madrid].”
“Then my idol Cristiano and I watched all his matches. Then I could no longer watch them because I also had to play [professional football],” said Mbappe as quoted from Real Madrid’s official website.
Therefore, Mbappe did not hesitate to state that his desire to join Real Madrid had been embedded since he was a child. Mbappe felt that this was getting closer to reality when he succeeded in pursuing a professional career.
Mbappe is very proud to be able to join Los Blancos after going through a long transfer saga.
The French star was actually almost certain to join Madrid in 2022. Unfortunately, the plan failed to materialize. His old club, Paris Saint Germain, is still able to persuade him to stay in Paris.
Now, Mbappe’s desire to join Madrid can no longer be contained. Moreover, his contract at PSG has ended and Madrid does not have to spend a lot of money to buy the star.
“I am honored to be able to say that I am a Real Madrid player. This has been my dream since I was little and I have waited a long time for this moment. Now it has come true,” Mbappe said on the club’s official website.
“You can’t buy dreams. It is very satisfying for me and my family. Do you know how much effort I had to put in to get here? There were so many obstacles,” he said.
Mbappe also admitted that he could not wait to meet his teammates and coaching staff in the pre-season training session.
“Now I just want to think about the present, I am a very happy person and I am looking forward to meeting the coach and teammates and playing my first match,” he added.
