French midfielder Paul Pogba relapsed with a knee injury and do not recover in time to play the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
According to his agent Rafaela Pimenta, Pogba is fully conscious of the injury and is clear he cannot join in the 2022 World Cup after two medical reviews on October 30 and October 31 in Turin and Pittsburgh.
“Following yesterday and today’s medical review in Torino and Pittsburgh, it is extremely painful to inform Paul Pogba will still need recovery time from his surgery.” Pimenta said.
“For this reason, Paul will not be able to join Juventus’ squad before the World Cup break nor the French National Team in Qatar,” Pimenta added.
On the same day, his team Juventus updated on the injury situation and confirmed that Pogba out of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in November.
“Following recent examinations and consultations conducted in Pittsburgh by Professor Volker Musahl to assess his knee injury, Pogba needs to continue his rehabilitation process,” Juventus said in a statement.
The former Manchester United midfilder injured his right knee meniscus during a Juventus training session in Los Angeles at the end of July. Pogba initial option was conservative treatment, but then had to undergo surgery on September 5 on the advice of his doctor.
Pogba in September confirmed via a video posted on Twitter that he had successfully undergone surgery on a knee injury and needed to keep his cool despite the speculation surrounding his personal life. He then took part in partial training with the whole Juventus team to regain the feeling of the ball.
France national team will lose the key midfield pair. Last month, Chelsea announced N’Golo Kante needed four months to recover from a hamstring injury.
