Pep Guardiola: Anyone can win the Premier League title

Chelsea ended Manchester City’s hope of completing the 2018/19 Premier League season undefeated courtesy of a stunning 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge in Premier League on Saturday.

Thanks to N’Golo Kante, who fired Eden Hazard pass beyond Ederson. David Luis, meanwhile, doubles the Blues lead from a corner.

Liverpool remains unbeaten after trashed Bournemouth 4-0, and the Reds are back on top the Premier League, only a point in front off defending champions.

Chelsea the first team to beat City in the league, and Pep Guardiola thinks that anyone can win the Premier League title after the Citizens lose to Chelsea.

“We are in December, if you ask me if Liverpool can win the Premier League, I will say yes.” Guardiola told Sky Sports.

“If you ask me right now in the position, Tottenham or Chelsea or Arsenal can win the Premier League, I will say yes. Everybody can win the Premier League.” Guardiola added.

City’s long unbeaten run ended in the Premier League, losing 4-2 in a dramatic match at Liverpool last season. Guardiola’s runway leaders had not lost in their previous 30 league matches, the sixth longest unbeaten run in English top-flight history.

City are trying to win a second league, Guardiola, however, he insisted there is still hope in the Premier League title race despite City falling a point behind Liverpool.

“Everybody asks me every time. Last season it happened the same in that period. I said that isn’t going to happen. Yesterday they asked me in the press conference and I said again that isn’t going to happen. We are not to be invincible, we are here to try and be champion, to try and make one point more than our opponents.” Guardiola said.

“It’s part of the champion, you can lose. But it’s how you lose. Have we been like we normally are? Absolutely, yes. We monopolise the ball like Chelsea, we create the chances we have two thousand million passes.

“They beat us in one counter-attack and one set piece. We played the way we want to play. After that, when the opponent is good it’s always to congratulate them, shake hands and improve for the next game.” he added.

Guardiola’s side host Everton at Etihad on December 15th, before meeting Hoffnheim in the Champions League matchday six.
