Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw at Watford in the fifth week of the 2019/2020 Premier League competition at Vicarage Road Stadium on Sunday (9/15).

Watford host immediately pressed Arsenal at the beginning of the game through Gerard Deulofeu kick. It’s just that placing the right foot from Deulofeu to the left side of the Arsenal goal can be caught by goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Watford again gave a threat to the visitors five minutes later. Hard kick Tom Cleverley from outside the penalty box in the 11th minute ignored by Leno.

The Hornets pressed Arsenal early in the game with a number of successful shots on goal when the match had only been running for 15 minutes.

However, Arsenal who continue to be pressed can actually advance first through a goal from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who came from a counterattack.

After getting a pass from Sead Kolasinac, Aubameyang who was in the Watford penalty box immediately turned around and fired a right foot shot that could not be reached by Ben Foster.

Aubameyang doubled the lead for the Gunners in the 32nd minute after receiving a horizontal pass from Ainsley Maitlan-Niles from the right.

Watford almost narrowed the position in the 36th minute by kicking Deloufeu who made use of Matteo Guendouzi’s blunder.

In the second half Watford continued to increase attacks to minimize position. A goal for Watford was created in the 53rd minute through Cleverley’s feet utilizing Sokratis’s carelessness.

Sokratis pass can be blocked by Deulofeu. Wild ball falls at Cleverley’s feet. Without thinking, the former Manchester United player kicked the ball into the Leno’s goalpost.

After reducing their position, Watford continued to be motivated to add another goal to equalize the score. Deulofeu fired in the 58th minute but it was still wide.

Ismaila Sarr’s left foot shot in the 65th minute was still thin on the left side of the Arsenal goal. The visitors returned the attack. This time passing by Lucas Torreira in the 79th minute but blocked by Foster.

In the minutes of injury time Leno made a brilliant save. Abdoulaye Doucoure’s kick in front of the Arsenal goal in the 90th minute +2 which seemed to have a great opportunity to be scored could be blocked by Leno. The final score was a 2-2 draw for both teams.
