Premier League Results: Man City Beat Newcastle United 4-3

Man City beat Newcastle United with a score of 4-3 in the Premier League match at St. Petersburg. James’ Park on Saturday (15/4).

As reported by Reuters, with the certainty of the Premier League title in hand, Man City played freely, especially Ferran Torres who scored a hat-trick in the 42, 64 and 66 minutes.

In addition, Joao Cancelo also contributed a goal for Man City in the 39th minute.

Newcastle can only fight with three goals, namely from Emil Krafth, Joelinton and Joe Wilock.

Playing at home to opponents, Manchester City appeared dominant from the start of the match. However, it was Newcastle United who managed to take the lead through the action of Emil Krafth who converted Jonjo Shelvey’s assist into a goal in the 25th minute.

The Citizens had to fight hard enough to get the equalizer. The results were only seen in the 39th minute, when Joao Cancelo successfully broke into Martin Dubravka’s goal by utilizing an assist from Rodri.

Three minutes later, Manchester City managed to reverse the position. Ferran Torres got his name on the scoreboard after scoring a goal thanks to help from Ilkay Gundogan. City was also winning 2-1.

Unfortunately, Man City’s advantage did not last long. In the first half injury time, the referee awarded a penalty to The Magpies, because Nathan Ake violated Joelinton in the forbidden box.

Joelinton also became the executor and managed to score Newcastle’s second goal. Until the break, the score of 2-2 graced the Newcastle United versus Manchester City duel.

The second 45 minutes begins with possession of the ball in the hands of Manchester City. However, about 10 minutes later, Newcastle United began to play the ball diligently and tried to penetrate the opponent’s defense.

The referee again awarded a penalty to the host. This time it was due to a violation committed by Kyle Walker to Joe Willock in the forbidden box. Now the duties of the penalty taker are given to Willock.

However, Willock failed to take advantage of the opportunity to score a goal. The ball shot was successfully pushed over by Scott Carson. Fortunately, the ball rolled back towards him so Willock was able to find the City net. Newcastle was also winning 3-2.

Manchester City immediately gave a positive response two minutes after conceding. Ferran Torres managed to score a goal using an assist from Gabriel Jesus. Score changes to 3-3.

What a fierce match! In the 66th minute, The Citizens were again in a superior position. Torres again became an important figure with a volley that changed the score to 4-3.

The score lasts until the referee blows the long whistle to signal the end of the game. In the end, Manchester City came out as winners.

With the results of this match, Man City means winning at home to opponents three times in a row in the Premier League this year.

Man City also managed to add points even though they are currently in the top position of the standings and are confirmed to be champions of the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Newcastle has slumped further in position 16 of the standings with 39 points.
