Robert Lewandowski Returns to Training

Bayern Munich’s sharp attacker Robert Lewandowski returns to training ahead of the 2020-2021 Champions League quarter-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The match will take place at the Parc des Prinsess Stadium, Wednesday, April 14, 2021.

Lewandowski’s season is still very brilliant. He scored 40 goals, with a breakdown of 35 in the German League and in five in the Champions League.

However, at the first meeting at the Allianz Arena Stadium, Lewandowski could not defend Die Roten — the nickname of Bayern Munich — because of a knee injury. Lewandowski was injured while defending the Polish national team in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Without Lewandowski’s presence, Bayern lost to their guests with a score of 3-2. Kylian Mbappe scored two goals for Les Parisien, and another goal contributed by Marcos Correa.

Meanwhile, the home goals scored by Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Thomas Muller.

Robert Lewandowski showed himself ready to defend his team when he visited Paris. He’s been practicing even though he’s only running on the sidelines.

“Robert Lewandowski is working hard to recover from a knee injury and become Bayern’s top scorer by completing his first run when it snowed in Munich on Monday morning,” wrote the club’s website, Monday (12/4/2021).

“Lewandowski is back injured from international duty with Poland and will no longer be available for the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final at Paris Saint-Germain,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, Munich defender Joshua Kimmich is confident that Hansi Flick’s side will win their second match. He said the mentality determines his teammates to advance to the semifinals.

“Because we are a better team, I am sure we will progress. We were the better team in the first leg but unfortunately the result didn’t match the performance. However, I believe we can still reverse it in the second leg, “he said.

“A lot of things depend on mentality, but also efficiency. We already showed a good mentality in the first game but we weren’t efficient enough. This time we need to do both! ” concluded the German national team player.
