Ronaldo Bring Juventus to the Top of the Italian League Standings

Juventus won the top of the Italian league table after beating AS Roma 2-1. Cristiano Ronaldo contributed one goal in this match.

Juventus’s victory made them collect 48 points, two points ahead of Inter Milan who were held to a draw at Atalanta the day before.

From the course of the match, Juventus were 1-0 ahead when the game has been running for three minutes. Starting from Paulo Dybala’s free kick on the right side of the Roma defense, the ball rolled towards the far post.

Merih Demiral’s movement at the far post was unexpected by Roma players. The Turkish defender then successfully welcomed Dybala’s pass and struck the ball into the goal.

Seven minutes later, Juventus successfully doubled their lead with a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty.

Two goals at the beginning of this match to make Juventus quite the upper hand in the net nets in the first round.

Left behind two goals in the first round, Roma who do not want to be embarrassed at home continue to try to storm the Juventus defense.

Roma’s efforts began to bear fruit in the 68th minute. Roma reduced the position to 1-2 through a penalty scored by Diego Perotti.

Perotti kicks the ball to the left while Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny moves in the opposite direction.

Juventus immediately responded to this goal by including two substitutes, Gonzalo Higuain and Danilo to fill Dybala and Aaron Ramsey’s place. Maurizio Sarri wants Juventus to have new energy in the remaining 20 minutes of action.

In the 73rd minute, Ronaldo failed to take advantage of opportunities to increase excellence. Ronaldo’s header goes wide to the left of the goal.

In the 79th minute, Higuain successfully rattled Roma’s goal after receiving Ronaldo. But this goal was not validated because Higuain was in an offside position.

When the match entered injury time, Lorenzo Pellegrini got the ball in the penalty box. But Pellegrini’s shot bounced away from the target.

Not long ago, it was Bryan Cristante’s turn to release a long-range shot. But the shot did not pose a serious threat to Juventus.

The victory was not obtained easily. Sarri said AS Roma put pressure so strongly that Juventus were tortured.

“We played well for 60 minutes, the rest, competing against AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico we were tortured. It was inevitable,” Sarri said.

Juventus took a quick lead through Merih Demiral’s fourth minute goal. They were even able to double the advantage through Cristiano Ronaldo in the 10th minute.

Sarri said, he did not like the situation where Juventus had to maintain excellence rather than adding to it. Moreover, each time getting a chance to score goals always meet with failure.

“One thing I do not like is that Juventus are forced to maintain their advantage. There are three golden opportunities through a counter-attack scheme, all of which have failed,” Sarri said.
