Serie A Result: Inter Destroy Bologna 6-1

Inter Milan won 6-1 over Bologna in the fourth week of the Italian League at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Saturday (18/9). Inter’s new signing, Denzel Dumfries, was one of the players who made a big impact on the match.

As reported by Football Italia, Simone Inzaghi had to make adjustments after Inter drew with Sampdoria in Serie A last week and lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League. Inzaghi also gave Denzel Dumfries his debut as a starter, but Inter also had to play without the injured Arturo Vidal and Stefano Sensi.

According to WhoScored’s records, the Nerazzurri did not appear dominant in the match. They only held possession of the ball by 45 percent. However, Inter Milan played more effectively by releasing 19 shots of which 11 were on target. Meanwhile, Bologna only created 7 chances with 2 on goal.

The reigning Italian League champions did not take long to take the lead. In the sixth minute, Lautaro Martinez had no trouble completing Denzel Dumfries’ pass.

Bologna are trying to put up a fight against Inter. One of Bologna’s golden opportunities was obtained by Nicola Sansone in the 20th minute.

Inzaghi tried to take advantage of the collaboration of the Argentine duo, Lautaro Martinez and Tucu Correa, in this match. Unfortunately, Correa had to come off the field after suffering a heavy blow in the ribs in the 28th minute.

Inter scored the second goal in the 30th minute. Federico Dimarco’s corner headed by Milan Skriniar. The ball couldn’t be stopped into the Bologna goal. La Beneamata lead 2-0.

Just three minutes later, Inter scored the third goal. A fast counter-attack that was well coordinated by Nicolo Barella.

At the end of the first half, Di Marco’s volley could still be pushed over by Guaita. Inter’s three-goal advantage did not change until halftime.

Martinez failed to add to Inter’s goal in the 50th minute. After receiving a pass, Martinez fired a shot that made the ball hit the crossbar.

Four minutes later, Skorupski’s goal broke again. The Rossoblu’s lackluster back line was punished by Matias Vecino. Federico Dimarco’s pass was actually not too perfect, but the ball could slide towards Vecino who was already near the goal. Inter lead 4-0.

The score changed again in the 63rd minute. Edin Dzeko didn’t waste a chance when he got the ball from Marcelo Brozovic near the penalty spot.

Half a dozen goals against Bologna. In the 68th minute, from a narrow angle Dzeko broke into Skorupski’s goal.

Four minutes before normal time ended, Bologna scored one goal through Arthur Theate. A 6-1 victory over Bologna made Inter temporarily lead the Italian Serie A standings.
