Spain vs France Euro Cup 2024 Results: Score 2-1

Spain successfully advanced to the final of Euro 2024 after beating France with a score of 2-1 in the semifinal match which was held at the Allianz Arena, Munich on Tuesday (9/7/2024).

Spain actually fell behind due to Randal Kolo Muani’s goal. However, La Furia Roja was able to recover and win through the actions of Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo.

Thanks to this result, Spain has the right to appear in the final to face the winner of the Netherlands vs England match. The plan is that this top duel will be held at the Olympiastadion, Berlin on Sunday (14/7/2024).

The match was open from kick off. France successfully opened the scoring when the game had only been running for nine minutes through Kolo Muani’s header following Kylian Mbappe’s crossing.

Spain immediately reacted. As a result, they managed to equalize the score at 1-1 in the 21st minute through a spectacular long-range shot from Yamal.

Only four minutes later, Spain took the lead through Dani Olmo’s shot. Initially this goal was thought to be Jules Kounde’s own suicide, but in the end it was ruled to be Olmo’s.

France also tried to get up by increasing the intensity of their attacks. However, no additional goals were scored until the match entered the halftime break.

Returning from the dressing room, France tried to take control of the game. Mbappe et al created a number of opportunities, but none of them were able to produce a goal.

On the other hand, Spain tried to play safer to maintain their lead. Evidently, the Spanish defense appeared strong to reduce French aggressiveness.

No more goals were scored throughout the second half. The score 2-1 for Spain’s victory was the final result of this match.

Lamine Yamal was chosen as the best player in Spain’s 2-1 win over France.

The match entered the 21st minute, Lamine Yamal shook the Allianz Arena in Munich with his spectacular goal. Yes, Yamal scored a goal in a special way, namely a shot from long distance.

This goal made Yamal set a record as the youngest goalscorer in Euro history. Yamal did it at the age of only 16 years, 11 months, 27 days.

Now, Lamine Yamal is certain to play in the final. Interestingly, in the final match at the weekend, Yamal will be 17 years old. Yamal will have his 17th birthday on Saturday, July 13 2024.

Thanks to the extraordinary performance he showed, UEFA panelists chose Lamine Yamal as the best player in the semifinal match between Spain vs France.

“His fantastic equalizer was crucial for Spain to get back into the match,” was the UEFA panellist’s assessment of Yamal’s performance.

“At such a young age, he worked hard defensively and was a threat in possession, impressing with his positioning and forming a productive partnership with Jesus Navas on the right.
