The Badminton World Federation (BWF) released a list of players who recorded the fastest smashes in the 2024 Thomas and Uber Cup which took place in Chengdu, China, from April 27 to May 5.
Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, women’s singles badminton player from Indonesia, recorded the fastest smash among other women’s singles players in the 2024 Uber Cup. She recorded a smash of 399.6 km/hour. The 24 year old player surpassed the smash produced by the Chinese player, He Bing Jiao, which was at 394.4 km/h and 392.6 km/h. Then, her compatriot Chen Yu Fei followed with 381,8 km/h.
In addition, Jorji also produced a smash that was seventh fastest in the 2024 Uber Cup, namely at 379.2 km/hour. Apart from her, there is also Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo, who is in 10th place with her smash which has a speed of 371.2 km/hour.

The world number three player only lost to the representative of Malaysia, Leong Jun Hao, who recorded a smash at 482 km/hour and Li Shi Feng from China who threw a smash as fast as 480.7 km/hour.
Wong Ling Ching from Malaysia was in fourth place with a speed of 373.7 km per hour and Liang Ka Wing from Hong Kong was in fifth place with a speed of 371.6 km per hour. The world number seven player sits in 10th place by recording his fastest smash at 456.1 km/hour.
Meanwhile, Chinese star Liang Wei Keng became the fastest in the men’s singles sector by releasing a smash at a speed of 492.8 km/hour. He is only 0.3 km/hour ahead of India’s champion, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, who is in second place.
