The Manchester United legend has a bad feeling about Rasmus Hojlund, what is it?

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, tries to predict the fate of Rasmus Hojlund. Surprisingly, it turned out that Rio Ferdinand had a bad feeling about Rasmus Hojlund’s first season with Manchester United.

Rasmus Hojlund isn’t officially a Manchester United player yet. But it seems only a matter of time until Rasmus Hojlund is introduced as a new Manchester United signing.

Manchester United is said to have poured out 72 million euros, to hook Hojlund from Atalanta. Of course, with such a large fund, it is hoped that Rasmus Hojlund will become a new weapon for the Red Devils’ front line.

Rio Ferdinand also acknowledged that Rasmus Hojlund was a potential player. He also believes the player will be suitable to play in the harsh atmosphere in the Premier League.

“The first thing you have to see is if there is great potential. Anyone who has seen it play will notice there’s an attribute in there at your disposal. He is suitable for the Premier League,” said Ferdinand, quoted from Metro, Thursday (3/8/2023).

However, because he was young and paid a high price, Rio Ferdinand was reminded of Darwin Nunez. Just last year, Darwin Nunez was bought by Liverpool for 100 million euros.

Both were still young and charged high transfer prices, making Rio Ferdinand have a bad feeling about Rasmus Hojlund. Rio Ferdinand predicts Rasmus Hojlund will suffer the same fate as Darwin Nunez in his debut season with Liverpool, which is sluggish.

Last season, Darwin Nunez only scored nine goals in 19 Premier League matches played with Liverpool. Rio Ferdinand assessed that Rasmus Hojlund needed time to adapt like Darwin Nunez.

“I see him a little bit like Darwin Nunez from Liverpool. Last season was his adjustment season. He’s a young striker coming into the league, everything about him fits perfectly into the Premier League but it just doesn’t go his way.

But I think this season we will see different players for Liverpool.” The man who is currently a football pundit will not be surprised if later Hojlund will have difficulty adapting in his first season with Man United. But on the other hand, Ferdinand also believes the 20-year-old player can try hard to adapt quickly.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if that happened with Hojlund although I would like him to have a better season than that, of course. He might do it but it will take time to adjust.”
