Top 10 Teams with the Highest Market Price at Euro 2020

Euro 2020 will bring together the best talents of the European continent. Each participating country has gathered the best strength ahead of the tournament which will take place on June 11, 2021.

The Group A match between Italy and Turkey will kick off the cross-European tournament. Moreover, the biggest meeting on the first match day was in Group F when world champions France meet Germany.

The quality of the squad of the two countries is undeniable. Looking at Transfermarkt, France and Germany have the second and third most expensive teams out of 24 participants. France is estimated to have players with a market value of 1.03 billion euros while Germany with around 16.2 million euros.

France has the player with the most expensive market price of all the European Cup participants, namely the sensational young star, Kylian Mbappe. The 22-year-old PSG star is estimated to have a market price of 160 million euros.

However, France is not the owner of the squad with the largest market value of all the participants of Euro 2020. The “grace” goes to Gareth Southgate’s England squad. The Three Lions are estimated to have a squad with a market price of 1.25 billion euros. Premier League 2020-2021 top scorer Harry Kane is the leading player with an estimated market value of 120 million euros.

The Tottenham Hotspur player became the player with the second most expensive market price of all participants in Euro 2020. Next is the name of the compatriot Jadon Sancho. The Borussia Dortmund star is estimated to have a market value of 100 million euros.

Spain is the country with the largest market value after Britain, France and Germany. The list of 10 countries was closed by Turkey with a market value of 325 million euros.

Here are the 10 countries with the highest record market prices at Euro 2020:
1.25 billion euros – England
1.03 billion euros – France
936 million euros – Germany
915 million euros – Spain
872 million euros – Portugal
764 million euros – Italy
669 million euros – Belgium
637 million euros – Netherlands
325 million euros – Turkey

At the end of the list are the names of three countries: Finland with a market price of 1.72 million euros, North Macedonia (2.38 million euros) and Hungary (2.88 million euros) . According to records on their site, Transfermarkt calculates each player’s market price based on a variety of different models.

One of the main factors is the Transfermarkt community, which constantly discusses and evaluates players’ market prices in detail. In general, Transfermarkt’s market price cannot be equated with transfer value.

The purpose of this market price is not to guess the price but to assess more or less the value of a player in the free market. The transfer value of players and situational conditions at a certain moment are closely related in determining the market price.
