Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City: Josep Guardiola is calm, Jack Grealish and Nathan Ake can play

Good news comes when Manchester City will visit Tottenham Hotspur’s headquarters. Because according to Man City coach, Josep Guardiola, his two mainstay players, namely Jack Grealish and Nathan Ake, are in good condition and can be played in this crucial match.

Yes, Manchester City will face Tottenham Hotspur in the postponed match in Week 34 of the 2023-2024 Premier League. The match will take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, on Wednesday 15 May 2024.

The Citizens – Manchester City’s nickname – need to win in this match. Because, victory will make Manchester City return to the top of the standings and have the opportunity to defend the Premier League title.

Currently, Manchester City occupies the runner-up position with 85 points. Meanwhile, Arsenal is in first place with 86 points.

While facing Tottenham Hotspur, Pep Guardiola confirmed that Jack Grealish and Nathan Ake would play. Both players are in better condition than before.

“Jack (Grealish) has recovered from his illness and Nathan (Ake) is much better [than] yesterday,” said Pep Guardiola, quoted from Metro, Tuesday (14/5/2024).

“Now we will train and we will see if he can train today,” he said.

Previously, Jack Grealish was absent from Manchester City’s 4-0 win over Fulham due to illness. Meanwhile, Nathan Ake suffered an injury in the first half and only played 22 minutes.

The Spanish coach realized that The Lilywhites – Tottenham’s nickname – could not be underestimated with Ange Postecoglou as coach because they were able to hold them to a 3-3 draw at Etihad Stadium. Even though they lost 0-4 to Liverpool, Pep Guardiola saw Tottenham Hotspur appear aggressive.

“We have to know exactly what they demand as a team this season because they have been more proactive with a different manager,” he said.

“They were very aggressive; it didn’t matter if they lost 4-0 at Anfield, they continued with the game plan they believed in,” he concluded.
