Tyson Fury Insists He Will Never Fight Oleksandr Usyk

Tyson Fury has insisted that a fight between him and Oleksandr Usyk is something that will never happen after announced his retirement from boxing.

The Gypsy King defeated Dillian Whyte at their Wembley bout on April 24 and later said he had accomplished his big life goal, announcing his retirement.

“it’s never going to happen because I’m retired. A lot of people said I wanted to punch him around the ring, because he was middleweight.” Fury said.

“However, I don’t want to do that. I was the undisputed champion, I won every single belt there was to win. I have nothing more to do, I have finished my career, completely retired end of story.” Fury added.

There has been rumour about who his next opponent will be. The most likely candidate would be Usyk because the Ukrainian boxer is holding the WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight championships after his victory over Anthony Joshua last year.

However, Fury once again has made his intentions clear that he wants to fight Francis Ngannou in UFC in 2023.

“He’s in great shape. Look at the muscles on him. He’s a good looking chappy, isn’t he?” Fury said.

“This is going to be one very special fight like never before seen in the history of our sport. It’s going to be an explosive fight when it happens.” Fury added.

Meanwhile the rematch between Usyk and Joshua is expected to be announced for this summer.

On his preparations for his fight with Joshua, Usyk said: “Although it was not easy for me, but I took such a decision, so now I am here and I have already started preparation for the rematch with Anthony Joshua.”

“Now I want to concentrate as much as possible on my preparation. Because at the moment I cannot stop thinking about the war, about my friends in Ukraine.” Usyk added.
