UFC: Aleksei Oleinik wins first round against Mark Hunt at UFC 136

Aleksei Oleinik delighted his many fans on Saturday by winning a bid in the first round against Mark Hunt at UFC Fight Night 136 at the Moscow Olympic Stadium in Russia, in front of 22,600 fans.

In their Saturday’s fight, Hunt kicked in with a kick, but Oleinik responded well. Hunt’s second two shots slowed Oleinik somewhat and a right hand did not help the Russian.

The “Super Samoan” remained patient with the beatings that seemed to hurt Oleinik, who stayed in the loop.

Then, with just over a minute to go in the first round, Oleinik managed to take Hunt by the back to start a stranglehold that left no alternative to the New Zealander to abdicate.

The Russian fighter won for the second straight time and has wins in four of his past five. Hunt, meanwhile, lost for the second straight time and now has dropped three of his past four.

On the other hand, Shamil Gentovich Abdurakhimov won by unanimous decision over his opponent Andrei Arlovski. The judges handed cards of 30-27, 29-28, 30-27 to both fighters

Abdurakhimov won in a second fight in a row and for the fourth time in his last five fights. For his part, Arlovski has defeated in a second consecutive fight after having signed two victories in a row. Overall, he has lost seven of his last nine fights.

Abdurakhimov tried quickly to take the initiative, but Arlovski managed to push him back early in the fight. With the help of kicks, the Russian heavyweight managed to bring Arlovski to the canvas. The Belarusian fighter managed to get back on his feet, but only to see Abdurakhimov bring him back to the ground.

After an exchange of hits on the ground, the referee Leon Roberts ordered the two fighters to continue standing with less than two minutes to go in the first round.

Arlovski took advantage of an opportunity to win the assault, but he was not able to reach his opponent steadily enough to hurt him.

In the last round, Arlovski was cut close to the eye and the referee interrupted the fight a few moments before relaunching the fight with 2:15 to go.

After a few seconds without any real action, Abdurakhimov shocked Arlovski with a knee injury and the former champion got another break. In the last moments, no fighter seemed to want to take things in hand.
