World champion UFC heavyweight Daniel Cormier said Khabib Nurmagomedov would not be able to provide significant resistance against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the boxing ring. “I think this is crazy. Khabib is better not to do that (fighting against Mayweather Jr.), unless he just wants to get a (big) payment,” Cormier said as quoted by MMA Junkie.
Cormier said Khabib did not have enough ability to trouble Mayweather Jr. who was invincible in his career as a boxer.
“He will be defeated by Floyd Mayweather. He will be very difficult to get out (of pressure), so he will be defeated in 12 rounds. Dominated for 12 rounds is certainly not good,” Cormier said.
In addition to disagreeing with Khabib’s duel against Mayweather Jr., Cormier also considered the rematch of McGregor’s against Khabib was not a duel that was still awaited. Cormier assessed Khabib had shown his quality and superiority over McGregor in the inaugural match.

Cormier himself was a friend, a practicing colleague, and mentor of Khabib Nurmagomedov. Cormier is now 39 years old and is preparing to face the duel against Derrick Lewis at UFC 230.
