Arsenal visited Wolverhampton headquarters in the 34th week of the 2023/2024 Premier League, Saturday (20/4/2024). The London Cannon won 2-0 at Molineux Stadium.
Leandro Trossard opened the scoring for Arsenal at the end of the first half. Martin Odegaard increased the Gunners’ lead in second half injury time.
This result made Arsenal rise to the top of the Premier League standings with 74 points from 33 matches. Meanwhile, Wolves are tied in 11th position with 43 points.
As soon as the first half started, Arsenal immediately threatened Wolves’ goal. Kai Havertz fired a shot which goalkeeper Jose Sa was able to save.
After that, Arsenal had opportunities that did not result in goals. Gabriel Jesus’ shot went wide and Bukayo Saka’s header was still caught by Jose Sa.
Entering the 14th minute, Declan Rice had a chance. Unfortunately, his shot was still weak so the ball was secured by the Wolves goalkeeper.
The goal Arsenal had been waiting for finally appeared in the 44th minute. Gabriel Jesus’ pass was shot hard by Leandro Trossard and became a goal.
No additional goals were scored. The score was 1-0 for Arsenal’s lead until halftime.
The match continued again with a rhythm that was not much different. Arsenal still appear to be attacking in search of additional goals.
Entering the 54th minute, Arsenal got a chance through Kai Havertz. However, Jose Sa managed to thwart him again.
Wolves then turned threatening in the 70th minute. However, Mario Lemina’s shot was still saved by David Raya.
Entering injury time, Arsenal were able to add a goal through Martin Odegaard. The Gunners won 2-0 and managed to take home three points from Wolves headquarters.
