Zlatan Ibrahimovic Criticises French Ligue 1

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has criticised the French’s top division and insisted the competition is “collapsing”. The Swedish forward believes that Ligue 1 football is worse since he left the French.

Since Ibrahimovic moved to the Premier League, Mbappe, Messi and Neymar have all arrived at the Paris Saint-Germain. The forwards have formed one of the most exciting strike forces in European football, scoring 43 goals between them in all competitions this term.

“Since I left France, everything is going down, they have nothing to talk about anymore in France,” Ibrahimovic said.

“France needs me, I don’t need France. Even if you have Mbappe, Neymar, Messi, it doesn’t help you, because you don’t have God.” Ibrahimovic added.

Ibrahimovic joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2012 from AC Milan. In four seasons, he has become one of the team’s figures, scoring 156 goals and winning four Ligue 1 titles, three French League Cups, three Super Cups and two French Cups.

At 41 years old, he continues to recover from an injury to compete in his 24th season as a professional player.

Ibrahimovic faced questions about retirement after suffering the injury, buta he insisted he will plan agani once he is fully recovered, adding that he played for six months without an ACL.

“Swollen knee for six months. I was only able to train with the team 10 times in the last six months,” Ibrahimovic said.

“Took more than 20 injections in six months. Emptied the knee once a week for six months. Painkillers every day for six months. Barely slept for six months because of the pain. Never suffered so much on and off the pitch.” he added.

Messi, Mbappe, and Neymar are set to face the Serie A giants Juventus in the Champions League Group H on Wednesday night.
