Agreed to train Al Shabab, John Terry will immediately follow in the footsteps of Steven Gerrard to the Saudi Arabian League

John Terry is rumoured to be coaching the Saudi Arabian League club. The Chelsea legend has reportedly agreed verbally with the club and will follow in the footsteps of compatriot Steven Gerrard who has already taken charge of Al Ettifaq.

Terry has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Al Shabab. The former Aston Villa and Chelsea player will reportedly get a two-year contract, but it could be four years according to the agreement later.

“He (John Terry) has reached a verbal agreement with Al-Shabab. Talks are said to have started about a month ago and will end with him signing a contract for at least two years, although it could also end for four years,” wrote the Goal International report, quoted on Thursday (7/9/2023).

Terry will reportedly start his career when Al Shabab meets Al Feiha on September 15, 2023. Currently, the 42-year-old man is still on the coaching staff at the Chelsea academy.

“Terry will likely lead Al-Shabab when they play their next game – against Al-Feiha on September 15,” wrote Goal International.

Thus, it is almost certain that Terry will follow in the footsteps of Gerrard who has already competed in the Saudi Arabian League. So far, the former Liverpool midfielder has recorded five matches with details of three wins, one draw and one defeat.

Apart from Gerrard, there is also former Liverpool player Robbie Fowler who is currently coaching Al Qadsiah FC. Terry will also follow in the footsteps of many European stars who have moved to the Saudi Arabian League such as Cristiano Ronaldo, N’Golo Kante, Eduoard Mendy and Roberto Firmino.

Terry will later get a tough task to help Al Shabab rise. Musabab, the team nicknamed the White Lions, is currently languishing in 17th position in the standings with two points from five matches.
