After defeating Alexander Shevchenko in the opening match, the 20-year-old put on a dominant performance against Seyboth Wild in the first meeting between the two players.

The former world number 1 had a decisive break opportunity in the sixth game of the first set after world number 63 Seyboth Wild’s forehand return hit the net. The world number 3 tennis player further confirmed his dominance by getting a break opportunity at the start of the second set before emerging as the winner.

Throughout their first meeting, the second seed won 87 percent of the points on his first serve and 50 percent of the points on his second serve, while Seyboth Wild won 67 percent of the points on his first serve, but only 39 percent of the points on his second serve.

Apart from that, the home tennis player was able to utilize break point opportunities efficiently after he converted four of the six break point opportunities he created and saved one of the two break point opportunities he faced.

Carlos Alcaraz is now seeking the sixth Masters title of his career and second this season after he became champion at Indian Wells. In the fourth round, he will meet German tennis player Jan Lennard Struff, whom he beat in the final of the Madrid Open last season. Until now, the home players are leading in their head to head with 2-1.

The 23rd seed, Lennard Struff also performed quite impressively when he beat the 13th seed, Ugo Humbert 7-5, 6-4, including not facing a single break point opportunity and converting two of the four break point opportunities he created. .
