Heavyweight WBC Champion Tyson Fury No Longer Talks about Retirement

Tyson Fury has insisted that he’s not ready to retire and to keep his WBC heavyweight world title and will now look to fight Oleksandr Usyk for 2023.

“I’m not really ready to move on right now. I thought I was, but apparently I’m not. That’s why I am back for more punishment.” Fury said.

“I’m only interested in waking up every day and being thankful for what I have and who I am, thankful that God gave me another day.”

“When people start ranking you, it means you’re finished, you’re over and done. Where they want to put me is not my concern.” Fury added.

Fury retained his WBC heavyweight title on Saturday night at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, in England by defeating Derek Chisora by TKO in the 10th round.

The Gypsy King had the dominance of the dispute from the start of the fight. Bigger, faster and with better technical resources, Fury left few gaps for a more refined performance by Chisora.

Chisora’s jabs didn’t work as well as he had hoped. Those used by Fury, on the other hand, caused more damage.

Fury’s hooks and uppercuts, on the other hand, repeatedly hit Chisora’s head. His face was red and the area around his mouth was clearly visible.

Following a Fury’s series, referee Victor Loughlin chose to end the fight and announce the TKO.

Everybody wants to see Fury with Usyk. And then against the official challenger, there’s a lot of activity at heavyweight.

“I’m ready and willing to take on Usyk next. Let’s give the fans one champion, one name, one face.” Fury said.

‘Usyk’s ready for the challenge. He came over tonight so fair play to him. I’m really looking forward to the challenge.” Fury added.
