Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, suggested Sofyan Amrabat learn to adapt to Case Miro. According to him, both players have similar playing styles, namely they are both aggressive on the field.
Amrabat has just moved to Old Trafford on loan from Fiorentina for the next season. They spent £10 million to borrow it.
The arrival of the Moroccan national team player is certainly hoped by the coach, Erik Ten Hag, to strengthen the Red Devils’ midfielder – nicknamed Man United, which has been very struggling in the first three weeks of the 2023-2024 Premier League against Wolves, Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest. Ten Hag himself already knew his qualities when they were together at Utrecht.
Amrabat’s aggressive playing style will undoubtedly provide balance in Man United’s midfield. However, he collected a lot of yellow cards last season with a total of 20 for club and country.
Therefore, Ferdinand hopes that Amrabat will have the common sense to adapt his aggressive style to the Premier League. He also advised him to learn from Casemiro’s experience in his Premier League debut last season where the Brazilian star missed many matches due to several red cards.
“All players need to adapt and if he can do it quickly, I think he will be fine. “Certainly the game here is faster than the Italian League,” said Ferdinand as quoted by Metro, Tuesday (2/9/2023).
“He (Sofyan Amrabat) is an international footballer who has played well on the international stage, so hopefully he has the common sense and concentration to make sure he is good,” he added.
“I think someone like Casemiro with his experience last year missing a few games because of his indiscipline here and there and maybe his naivety towards the league, could probably give him a point in the right direction,” he said.
Amrabat himself still has to be patient to make his debut with Man United. Because, he failed to register on time to be able to play this weekend in the fourth week of the 2023/2024 Premier League match against Arsenal. As a result, he will probably only appear for the Manchester Red Army against Brighton and Hove Albion after the international break.
