Manchester United does not want to relax in the 2024/2025 summer transfer window. The Premier League giants reportedly intend to sell a number of players to find funds to buy new stars.
So far, Man United has been one of the most active teams in the summer transfer market. The Red Devils have secured the signatures of two young stars, namely Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.
Man United brought Zirkzee from Serie A club Bologna for a fee reportedly reaching 42.5 million Euros. Meanwhile Yoro was brought in from Lille with a transfer value of 62 million Euros.
However, Erik ten Hag was not at all satisfied. The Dutch coach plans to add a number of star players to his squad to compete to become champions this new season.
The problem is, most of Man United’s spending money this summer has been allocated to recruiting Zirkzee and Yoro. As a result, Man United has to sell players first if they want to bring players back to Old Trafford.
Man United has indeed sold a number of its players, starting from Mason Greenwood who joined Marseille, Donny van de Beek (Girona), to Alvaro Carreras who was made permanent by Benfica.
However, that wasn’t enough. Reported by ESPN, Ten Hag has now identified players who can be sold this summer. Interestingly, the number of players reached seven people.
Big names grace Man United’s selling list this summer. According to ESPN, five of them are former team captain Harry Maguire, defender Victor Lindelof, midfielder Scott McTominay, wing-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka and winger Jadon Sancho.
In fact, two players recruited during the Ten Hag era could also leave Man United this summer. They are midfielder Christian Eriksen and winger Antony.
Recently, Man United rejected an offer from Fulham for McTominay, while Wan-Bissaka is reportedly being targeted by fellow Premier League club, West Ham.
