Leicester City win 9-0 over Southampton

Leicester City pumped nine goals against Southampton in the Premier League match on Saturday (10/26). Leicester won a landslide victory 9-0.

From the start, Leicester had played a pressing game against Southampton. In just 10 minutes, they were able to lead one score thanks to Ben Chilwell.

Chilwell was able to quickly grab the ball from the keeper Angus Gunn from Harvey Barnes shot.

Southampton also wants to reply. But in the 12th minute, Ryan Bertrand’s hard tackle on Ayoze Perez produced a red card and made Southampton play with 10 men.

Jamie Vardy did not waste Southampton’s poor conditions.

Until the end of the first half, Leicester City scored four additional goals thanks to Youri Tielemans in the 17th minute, and two goals from Ayoze Peres in the 19th and 39th minutes, and Jamie Vardy in the 45th minute.

The first session closed 5-0 for Leicester City.

Luck still sided with Leicester City in the second round. In the 57th minute, Leicester were able to add a goal thanks to Perez who was able to take advantage of Bernes’s breakthrough bait.

Just a minute, Leicester City added another goal. This time Vardy managed to head a crossing ball from Ben Chilwell.

Behind seven points, Southampton seemed to play improvise. They keep trying to push until an opportunity occurs in the 69th minute. But the opportunity failed to make a goal thanks to Kasper Schmeichel.

Leicester City’s eighth goal came in the 85th minute. This time, James Maddison contributed a goal against Angus Gunn.

While the ultimate goal occurred in injury time when the referee gave a penalty to Leicester due to Jan Bednarek dropping Vardy.

Vardy also gave the ninth goal for Leicester City, just before the long whistle sounded.

With this goal harvest, Leicester City is temporarily able to shift Manchester City from second place in the Premier League standings with 20 points from 10 matches.

The victory made The Foxes match Manchester United’s record of winning with a similar score over Ipswich Town in the 1994/1995 season.

Vardy’s printed hat-trick against Southampton made the England striker heat up the English League’s top scoring competition this season.

Currently Vardy occupies the top position of the English Premier League top scoring with a score of 9 goals. Vardy is only one goal ahead of Sergio Aguero and Chelsea young striker Tammy Abraham, who has 8 goals.
