Naomi Osaka quickly shifted focus to the Paris Olympics after her early exit from Wimbledon at the hands of American Emma Navarro on Wednesday local time.
The Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka, who played at the All England Club for the first time since 2019, lost 6-4, 6-1 in the second round match on Center Court in less than an hour.
The two were tied at 3-3 in the first set before the four-time Grand Slam champion lost his way. Osaka admits she lacks confidence.

“To be honest, I felt that even though at first we seemed to be trading games, for some reason, I didn’t feel completely confident,” Osaka said as broadcast by AFP on Thursday.
“I didn’t feel like I played that well. I think that doubt started to seep into my game a lot. Of course the second set wasn’t that great.”
Navarro, ranked 17th in the world, managed to take the first set, and continued his good form in the second to lead 4-0 and repeated the feat again to close out the match.
Osaka’s win over Diane Parry in the opening round last Monday was her first win at Wimbledon since 2018.
She is now ranked 113th after returning to the tour last January after giving birth to her daughter, Shai, last year.
Osaka said she was unsure what her schedule would look like but called the Paris Olympics her priority.
He reached the third round of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The Paris Olympic tennis matches were held on the clay courts of Roland Garros, where Osaka played champion and world number one Iga Swiatek in the recent French Open.
“Because I was eliminated early, I really wanted to take my time and train for the Olympics because I wanted to do well,” Naomi Osaka said. “I would now probably prefer clay courts to grass courts.”
