Ruben Dias Believes the PSG Result Will Have No Beearing on Man City’s Chances at Liverpool

Manchester City were beaten by Paris Saint-Germain and must bounce back at Liverpool FC in the Premier League on Sunday.

But despite a 2-0 loss in the French capital that put a stop to the momentum at Stamford Bridge, City’s Ruben Dias said they would not lose their way.

“It doesn’t affect anything. Basically we know what we’re capable of, we know our identity and we know what we have to do at Anfield to win,” Dias said.

“It’s a loss and we are frustrated but it is the good habit to be a high level team. Obviously we’ll take it, but in no time we’ll be here again.

City returned from Paris on Wednesday after a slight recovery session and now have three days to prepare for a game they won for the first time in 17 years last season. And while the schedule could have been smoother, City will have no excuses.

“If you want to be at the top, if you want to be number one, you have to play against some of the best. We are disappointed because we demand all that we can of ourselves, individually and collectively.” Dias said.

“If we don’t win, we will never be satisfied. But now the focus is on Sunday’s game at Anfield and that’s where our energy will be.”

City were rocked by Messi’s magic on Tuesday with Dias hailing Paris Saint-Germain top three Neymar and Kylian Mbappe as the best frontline in world football.

But while raising his hands for two conceded goals, it’s at the other end of the pitch that Dias thinks City need to sharpen up. The Skybules created plenty of chances but failed to convert any.

“Essentially, it’s a frustrating night for us. I’m still fresh, but the team was there. We created chances. The team played good against a tough opponent.” Dias said.
