Spain vs Germany, Clash of Strong European Teams Ends in a Draw

A draw led to the match between Spain and Germany which was held on Monday (28/11/2022).

Spain and Germany who are members of Group E of the Qatar 2022 World Cup must be willing to share points in this match.

Spain’s goal scorer was scored by Alvaro Morata in the 62nd minute.

Meanwhile, Germany was able to reply through Niclas Fullkrug in the 83rd minute.

In this match Spain appeared in a 4-3-3 formation by installing Gavi, Busquets and Pedri as mainstays in the team’s midfield.

On the other hand, Germany implemented a 4-2-3-1 formation by installing Muller as the spearhead of the team.

During the 90 minutes Spain appeared more dominant with possession of the ball reaching 65 percent and taking shots at goal seven times with three of them on target.

Meanwhile, Germany had 35 percent possession of the ball and had eleven shots at goal with four of them on target.

In the first half Spain immediately took the initiative to attack the German defense.

The result was that Dani Olmo almost broke the deadlock in the 7th minute, but his hard shot was saved by Manuel Neuer.

Germany was not without opportunities, many times Serge Gnabry attempted kicks against Spain.

Unfortunately his shot was still not able to shake the Spanish goal which was guarded by Unai Simon.

In the 39th minute, Antonio Rudiger managed to break into the Spanish goal with a header after receiving a Joshua Kimmich free kick.

Unfortunately, the goal was disallowed by VAR because Antonio Rudiger was caught offside first.

A goalless draw ended the match in the first half.

The second half runs, Spain and Germany are still trying to carry out attacks.

Alvaro Morata, who came on as a substitute, was able to break into Manuel Neuer’s goal in the 62nd minute.

Alvaro Morata was able to follow well a cross provided by Jordi Alba from the right of the German defense and change the scoreboard to 1-0 in favor of Spain.

Germany continues to try to pound the defense of Spain.

As a result, Germany were able to score an equalizer in the 83rd minute through Niclas Fullkrug.

The 1-1 draw lasted until the referee sounded the long whistle signaling the end of the match.

These results make Spain still lead the Group E standings with four points.

Meanwhile, Germany is still at the bottom with one point.

The final match in Group E will determine the final position of the standings.

All teams in Group E still have a chance to qualify for the next round.
