Wu Yibing, a Chinese tennis player, never gave up when playing the first round of the 2023 Miami Open against Kyle Edmund.
The world number 64 managed to beat world number 544, Edmund 7-5, 7-5 to advance to the second round of the Miami Open.
Six seasons ago, the Chinese tennis player debuted at the Miami Open as a 17-year-old qualifier and lost in straight sets to Jared Donaldson. In his first match at the same tournament since then, the 23-year-old broke 28-year-old Edmund four times in a bout that lasted one hour and 35 minutes.
However, the victory was not an easy victory for Wu. He squandered a chance to win at 5-3 in the second set against Edmund who is playing his fourth match of the 2023 season.
