Zinedine Zidane insists he is not concerned by Real Madrid recent performances after a 2-1 lost to promotion club Girona on last Sunday.
The Los Blancos are currently at third place in La Liga standings with 20 points after playing 10 games this season. They are 8 points behind the leader Barcelona.
“I am not worried about the eight-point gap. We had the chance to kill the match, but I’m not worried. There was no lack of intensity, nor lack of desire.” Zidane said.
“These are things that are happening in the league, but we will continue with the work. It’s not that we don’t work.” Zidane added.
However, the Frenchman said he is better when things get tough as his team faces Tottenham in the second leg of Champions League on Wednesday night.
“After the defeat, of course, we are always sad but in fact, I like that, I like the challenge, feel the motivation to approach a big match, it is something that inspires me. When the things get tough, this is where I deliver the best.” Zidane said.
“Physically we are good, because we work a lot. Despite this defeat, we have not changed our approach. It is important we don’t dwell on that, that we thinking about tomorrow, go again and give our all as we always do to get the right result. Nothing will change our approach when we prepare and are going out to win.” Zidane added.

Zidane was confident about the offensive capabilities of his team, regardless of the maneuver used by Tottenham, which could align three central defenders.
“It’s no more difficult to attack, there are teams playing four or five behind, other with three central defenders. We will see tomorrow. It’s a club that can afford to have a great aspiration, which I think but their results speak for them.” Zidane said.
“We are good, we have a big match tomorrow. We are working well and are ready to perform well in this match against great opposition as is Tottenham Hotspur.” he added.
Premier League club Tottenham held Real to a 1-1 draw in the Santiago Bernabeu to remain undefeated in Group H.
